Robert C. Gordon, D.C., FABCS, FRCCM, DAAPM
Manipulation Under Anesthesia Program Director
Dr. Gordon has performed or proctored more than 7,000 Manipulation Under Anesthesia procedures, and has a long history as a researcher, lecturer, teacher, author and consultant on this special procedure.
His experience and stature as one of MUA’s foremost authorities is why he is in great demand as an MUA practitioner,Instructor, MUA practice Consultant, legal consultant, and MUA billing expert.
Dr. Gordon earned his undergraduate degrees from Florida State University in physical education, recreational science, and sports medicine, and was involved in the master’s program in exercise physiology.
Since graduating from the National College of Chiropractic in 1975, he has specialized in the fields of sports medicine and industrial chiropractic. He pursued his early interest and training in the science of MUA at Southeastern University of health Sciences, an Osteopathic college in South Fl (Which is now called Nova Southeast).
Dr. Gordon was inducted into the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1999, and is the Vice Chairman of the Royal College of Chiropractic Medicine.
Additional training in MUA was completed in 1990 in the post graduate MUA program at Texas Chiropractic college, and a co-instructor with Parker College.
Dr. Gordon has been compiling research and studies on the subject since 1985, and has been actively teaching and researching MUA since 1992. His interest in the industrial field earned him a position as an authorized trainer for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in 2001.
He has used the MUA procedure in the sports medicine and industrial fields to bring recovery to many injured employees and athletes over the years.
Dr. Gordon holds many awards from his years in the chiropractic field, including Chiropractor of the Year from the Broward Chiropractic Society and the KUDO award from the Florida Chiropractic Association for his work as the state chairman for scoliosis.
He continues to be a presenter all over the nation in the field of MUA with CE hours sponsored by New York Chiropractic College.
Dr. Gordon holds active licenses to practice chiropractic in Florida and New Jersey.
Dr. Gordon lectures extensively on manipulation under anesthesia regularly for many organizations and universities.
He is a consultant for the MUA procedure for many hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers throughout the U.S., and has taught the MUA procedure to more than 2000 doctors of chiropractic, osteopathy, and medicine.
He is the author/editor of “Manipulation Under Anesthesia: Concepts In Theory and Application,” the first comprehensive text on MUA, and continues as president of Cornerstone Professional Education, an organization focused on teaching the MUA procedure, as well as program
